The Elaine Howarth's Centrestage Dance School is situated in South Parade, Cleckheaton, in fully equiped dance studios.  The principal, Elaine Howarth is a fellow and adjudicator and all staff are qualified and CRB checked.  Centrestage offers the best quality dance and theatre training in a warm and friendly environment.

The school covers IDTA ballet, tap, modern jazz, theatrecraft, gymnastics, from the preparatory grades through to advanced 2 level.  Centrestage also provides classes in musical theatre, freestyle disco, street dance, breakdance and zumba workout.  Examinations are taken regularly in all subjects

The school hosts an annual show at Cleckheaton Town Hall which includes all school members and is renowned for its professional touch, choreography, special effects, costumes and lighting.  Some of the pupils enter competitions throughout the year which requires private tuition where prepared routines are set.  Centrestages's success rate is excellent and it gives pupils chance to mix with other theatre schools around the country. 

Some highlights over the past 2 years have been: 
  • dancing at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool in Musical Hits
  • representing the North of England at Festival 4 Stars, and
  • supplying dancers for the cast of the City Varieties in Leeds
